Ahead of Duke's Saturday game against Coastal Division leader and No. 23 Virginia Tech, The Chronicle's Hank Tucker and Ben Feder break down the matchups to watch. The Hokies are 6-2 and 4-1 in the ACC, and the Blue Devils are 3-5 and 0-4 in the ACC following a 38-35 loss at Georgia Tech in which Duke overcame a 21-point deficit to take a fourth-quarter lead.



Robbery reported on Central Campus Wednesday night

UPDATE Dec. 8: The University announced Thursday that Fuquan James Wall, a Durham resident, has been arrested in connection with this robbery. He was arrested Nov. 19 on arrest warrants from the Duke University Police Department for robbery as well as on warrants issued by the Durham Police Department. He is currently being held at the Durham County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

After the Blue Devils rallied from a 28-7 halftime deficit to take a 35-31 lead in the fourth quarter against Georgia Tech, Yellow Jacket quarterback Justin Thomas orchestrated a game-winning touchdown drive to lift his team to a 38-35 victory. Georgia Tech outgained Duke 605-559 in the shootout, as Thomas totaled a career-high 459 yards. The Chronicle's Mitchell Gladstone and Ben Feder broke down the loss from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta and discussed what it means for the Blue Devils heading into the last four games of the season.

Luke Kennard poured in 30 points to lift the Blue Devils past Virginia State 90-59 in their first exhibition of the season, and freshman center Marques Bolden also posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Co-captains Grayson Allen and Matt Jones both missed time during the game with injuries, but head coach Mike Krzyzewski did not foresee any lingering issues in his postgame press conference.

With a well-rested Duke team coming off its bye week set to travel to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech Saturday at noon, The Chronicle's Amrith Ramkumar, Mitchell Gladstone and Ben Feder discussed the critical ACC matchup for the Blue Devils. Duke won its first game against a triple-option offense this year with a 13-6 victory against Army, but the Yellow Jackets are more explosive with several dangerous offensive threats. There is less than a month left in the regular season, and the outcome of Saturday's contest could make or break the Blue Devils' bowl chances.

The Chronicle's Amrith Ramkumar and Hank Tucker break down the main storylines surrounding the Blue Devils ahead of Duke's first exhibition game of the season Friday at 7 p.m. against Virginia State. Freshmen Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles will both be sidelined with injuries, but newly minted preseason ACC Player of the Year Grayson Allen will lead the Blue Devils in the backcourt. Duke was also picked to finish first in the ACC at the conference's media day Wednesday.

The Chronicle's Brian Pollack and Hank Tucker analyze what they saw at Countdown to Craziness Saturday night as the White Team earned a 52-37 win against the Blue Team. Freshmen Jayson Tatum and Frank Jackson led their respective teams and showcased their offensive skills for the first time in front of the Cameron Crazies, combining for 30 points. The Blue Devils will take the court against another opponent for the first time next Friday when they host Virginia State in an exhibition contest.

The Chronicle's football beat writers Amrith Ramkumar, Sam Turken, Brian Mazur and Ben Feder took a step back during the Blue Devils' bye week to analyze Duke's up-and-down season so far. Although the Blue Devils are just 0-3 in the ACC with disappointing losses against Wake Forest and Virginia, they notched a major nonconference upset at Notre Dame Sept. 24 and stayed competitive at No. 7 Louisville Friday night.
