The opinions in the daily editorial are formulated by 13 voting members of the board, who, as an independent group, are explicitly prohibited for writing or editing for other daily or weekly sections. Three ex-officio non-voting members serve in an advisory capacity based on other positions they hold in The Chronicle.
The members of the editorial board have diverse interests and a depth of knowledge about the University and the local community. The editorials are anonymously written by one voting member present at the meeting.
In an effort to be transparent, names and biographies of the members formulating the opinion, as well as non-voting members, are posted below.

Casey Williams, Editorial Board Chair
Casey Williams is a senior from Atlanta, Ga., majoring in Literature. His academic interests include philosophy and literary theory, and he enjoys writing, camping, and hanging out in coffee shops. Casey is also an A.B. Duke Scholar.
Courtney Ready, Editorial Board Member
Courtney Ready is a Trinity senior majoring in public policy and economics. At Duke, she is a member of Duke Association for Business Oriented Women and serves as a public policy teaching assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys reading about the world and discovering delicious restaurants in Durham.
Emily Feng, Editorial Board Member
Emily Feng is a junior majoring in Public Policy and English, with a minor in Chinese language. She is part of the Duke East Asian Nexus, and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In her spare time, she enjoys reading science fiction and running. One day she hopes to live and work in China as a journalist.
Jonathan Zhao, Editorial Board Member
Jonathan Zhao is a Trinity sophomore from Princeton, N.J., double majoring in philosophy and economics. Jonathan volunteers at Watts Elementary School, serves as treasurer for the Duke Political Union, and plays on the club lacrosse team. He also enjoys thought provoking conversations with new friends.
Alex Bloedel, Editorial Board Member
Alex Bloedel is a Trinity senior from New Canaan, Conn. majoring in economics andphysics. Alex is a Robertson scholar, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and plans to pursue graduate study in economics. In his free time, he enjoys movies, music, and travel.
Katherine Zhang, Editorial Board Member
Katherine Zhang, a Trinity senior, was born and raised in Charlotte, N.C. She is double-majoring in English and economics. Katherine chaired the board as a junior. Her interests include ethnic food, making playlists, and reading tabloids. She is also a Robertson Scholar.
Neil Kondamuri, Editorial Board Member
Neil Kondamuri is a senior from Munster, Ill., majoring in Public Policy and fascinated by health care policy. His interests include a challenging climb in the Appalachians, hole-in-the-wall food places, a long novel, a calming game of chess, and flying planes over beautiful North Carolina.
Thomas Prebble, Editorial Board Member
Thomas Prebble is a Trinity sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand. He is a computer science and economics double major, a member of Wayne Manor, and a Robertson Scholar. Thomas is vice president of Duke club field hockey and an avid follower of the All Blacks rugby team.
Dana Kraushar, Editorial Board Member
Dana Kraushar is a Trinity senior from New York City majoring in public policy and minoring in statistics. She studied in Buenos Aires in the fall of her junior year, where she learned to speak Spanish and appreciate dysfunction. In her spare time, she volunteers at a transitional home for women with CEF Durham. She enjoys traveling and has yet to find a food she won't try.
Precious Lockhart, Editorial Board Member
Precious Lockhart is a Trinity senior from Alexandria,Va. majoring in psychology. In addition to her work on the board, she also serves as vice president of Ubuntu, and is active in the Duke Partnership for Service, the Coalition for a Conflict Free Duke and the First-Year Advisory Counselor program. When she isn’t busy with classes or activities, she enjoys writing short stories, volunteering and being a Cameron Crazie.
Martin Shores, Editorial Board Member
Martin Shores is a Trinity senior from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, majoring in philosophy with a minor in economics. He is president of the Duke Brazilian Association, a member of Wayne Manor, likes long meals and will never say no to a good game of tennis.
Wilson Fisher, Editorial Board Member
Wilson Fisher is a Trinity junior from Mountain Brook, Ala. He is majoring in biology and pursuing a minor in classical civilizations. Wilson is also a member of the men’s varsity soccer team.
Tiffany Lieu, Editorial Board Member
Tiffany Lieu is a Trinity junior from Seattle, Wash., majoring in history and english. She is a Baldwin Scholar, a resident assistant and works as an undergraduate writing tutor. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and going on exploratory runs through Durham.
Danielle Muoio, Editor of The Chronicle and ex-officio non-voting member
Danielle Muoio is a Trinity junior from Roslyn Harbor, N.Y., double majoring in English and History. When she is not editing articles in 301 Flowers, Danielle enjoys exploring the Durham food scene and philosophizing with interesting people.
Scott Briggs, Editorial Page Editor of The Chronicle and ex-officio non-voting member
Scott Briggs is a Trinity senior from San Diego, Calif., majoring in Biology. When he is not editing columns and managing The Chronicle's opinion section, Scott spends his time mentoring writers through the Undergraduate Writing Partners Program, playing tennis and relaxing with his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers.

Yeshwanth Kandimalla is a Trinity senior from Atlanta, Ga. who is majoring in economics. He was editor-in-chief of The Chronicle as a junior. His interests include traveling, trivia, playing keyboards and digital media.
