Dr. Daniel Gianturco, professor emeritus of geriatric psychiatry and former chief psychiatry resident at Duke University Medical Center, died Jan. 23 at the age of 73. On campus, Gianturco worked as an advocate for underrepresented minorities and served as the head of the Black Faculty Committee's Academic Council.
