Wednesday night was not just a big night for the Duke basketball program.

A week after National Signing Day, Blue Devil football head coach David Cutcliffe used the Duke-UNC basketball game as an opportunity to court some of his most coveted gridiron recruits.

Six high-priority football recruits were in Durham Wednesday night paying a visit to campus. All of them hold scholarship offers from Cutcliffe and his staff.

Among the guests was Christian McCaffrey—the No. 38 running back in the class of 2014 by scout.com and younger brother of freshman Blue Devil wide receiver Max McCaffrey.

Christian is widely considered the top prep football player in the state of Colorado and his list of scholarship offers proves why. The lightening quick athlete holds offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, North Carolina, Stanford, among a bevy of others, in addition to Duke.

Jaylan Barbour (WR), Avery Edwards (TE), Will Richardson (OL), KeShun Freeman (OLB) and Derrell Scott (RB) joined McCaffrey to watch the Tar Heels battle the Blue Devils on the hardwood.

Scott is another high-profile recruit—rated as a four-star player and the No. 11 running back in the 2014 class by scout.com.
