Despite just holding a 19-29 record on the season, Duke has managed to win three consecutive games.

The streak began on May 6 when the Blue Devils knocked off Longwood by the score of 9-2.

Marcus Stroman was dominant, striking out seven of the 10 batters he faced in three innings of work, allowing just one hit. Centerfielder Will Piwnica-Worms and infielder Jordan Betts both hit homeruns in the game, while catcher Mike Rosenfeld went 4-4 with two RBI.

On May 8 Duke played a double header against Coppin State, winning game one by a score of 14-0, and game two 4-3. The Blue Devils improved its record to 19-29, dropping Coppin State to 1-47 on the year.

In game one, Andrew Istler and Dalton Brown each threw four shutout innings, and Josh Ruffin pitched a scoreless ninth to complete the shutout. All nine starters collected at least one RBI, including three each for Piwnica-Worms and outfielder David Perkins.

The star of game two was Perkins again, who hit a walk-off homerun off Paul Hawk in the bottom of the seventh inning, his first homerun of the season. Rosenberg also homered in the game. David Haviland threw four shutout innings and Sarkis Ohanian fired a shutout seventh to earn the win.

The team's Wednesday night contest against UNC-Greensboro was cancelled due to rain.

Duke starts a three game set against North Carolina this weekend for its final home contests.
