Kevin White is entering his 10th year in charge of Duke's athletic program and is now signed through 2022.

After serving as vice chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee this winter alongside Stanford's Bernard Muir, Duke Athletic Director and Vice President Kevin White will serve as committee chair for the 2019-20 season.

Serving as Duke's athletic director for more than a decade, White has been on the committee since the 2015-16 season.  The committee is responsible for choosing and seeding the NCAA tournament field every year.

"It’s an incredible honor to serve on this committee, and to be selected to take a leadership role by my esteemed colleagues is quite humbling,” White said in a press release. “While our primary charge is to be caretakers of the Division I men’s basketball tournament, there is a responsibility to be stewards of the sport of college basketball, and that’s a daily task we all take very seriously."

Current chair Bruce Rasmussen—Creighton's athletic director—and Brigham Young Athletic Director Tom Holmoe will rotate off the committee Sept. 1. White and Muir will be joined on the committee this year by Ohio's Jim Schaus, UNC Asheville's Janet Cone, Kentucky's Mitch Barnhart, Mountain West Conference Commissioner Craig Thompson, Northwestern's Jim Phillips, Southland Conference Commissioner Tom Burnett, Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner Bernadette McGlade and Bradley's Chris Reynolds.
