ACC Watch: North Carolina falls to unranked Wofford

Every night of the college basketball season, the Blue Zone will bring you updates on all of the important ACC matchups.

Wednesday had just three ACC teams in action, but one fell hard.

No. 4 Duke 104, Evansville 40

In its first game since falling to Boston College, the Blue Devils didn't hold back against the Purple Aces. Duke leaned on a 42-3 run between the first and second half to blow past Evansville, the No. 1 3-point shooting team in the country heading into Wednesday. The Purple Aces made just 35.7 percent from deep, including just one three in the first half. Wendell Carter Jr. led the way for Duke with 27 points in just 18 minutes.

Wofford 79, No. 5 North Carolina 75

The Terriers trotted into the Dean Dome and made history. The Tar Heels' home loss was the worst by a defending national champion since 1985, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi. Even after the win, Wofford ranked a paltry No. 167 in basketball statistician Ken Pomeroy's efficiency rankings, but found a way to steal a  road win despite being outrebounded and making just 7-of-22 from deep. Fletcher Magee dropped 27 points and helped limit North Carolina to shoot just 36.4 percent from the field, 7-of-25 from long range and turn the ball over 14 times.

The other score:

Louisville 70, Albany 68

Check back in Thursday night to see if Notre Dame can get its defense back on track.
