Duke Dining expands first-year meal plan from seven meals to nine

Save your food points, first-years. Duke Dining just announced that it’s expanding your meal plans.

According to an email from Director of Dining Services Robert Coffey, first-years will get two additional meal swipes during the week starting Sept. 11. Prior to the change, first-years only had seven swipes a week for dinner and weekend brunch at Marketplace. Now, they will have nine, meaning that only lunch is not covered by meal swipes.

“Duke Dining has reviewed first year students’ dining patterns and preferences and will increase access to meals as an enhancement to the current East campus dining model,” Coffey wrote.
