Sage the Gemini to headline Heatwave concert

This year's Heatwave concert will be headlined by Sage the Gemini, Duke University Union announced Monday.

Rapper Sage the Gemini is best known for his singles, "Gas Pedal" and "Red Nose." Luke Christopher, a singer, rapper and producer, will perform as the opening act. Heatwave will take place September 1 at 8 p.m. on Abele Quad.

Junior Caroline Levine, chair of DUU campus concerts, said the two performers make a great pair because of their different singing styles.

"Luke brings a laid back summer vibe and Sage's high energy hits like 'Now & Later' will get the crowd pumped up for the start of the school year," Levine said. "Our committee has been planning Heatwave since May and we're excited to see it all come together."
