DPD investigating armed robbery of Duke students off campus

The suspect was last seen on his way toward Ninth Street. 

The Durham Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of two students, according to a DukeALERT sent out at approximately 8:15 p.m. The event occurred on Markham Avenue between the BP Gas Station and the car wash.

The suspect had a handgun and is described as a Hispanic male wearing a red hoodie. He was in his mid-twenties, witnesses said. He was last seen on his way toward Ninth Street.

One of the two women robbed was slightly injured according to the police incident report obtained by ABC11. Their cellphones, credit cards, student IDs, headphones, scarves and one laptop were stolen.
