Carbon monoxide forces apartments near campus to evacuate

The News and Observer reported that a boiler sent carbon monoxide into student apartments Thursday night. 

Two student apartment buildings near campus were evacuated Thursday night because of carbon monoxide, according to the News and Observer

Firefighters were dispatched to 1500 University Road at 10:45 p.m. due to a boiler sending carbon monoxide into the apartments. A 911 caller reported that one individual was unconscious. 

Medics transported two people to Duke University Hospital, said Deputy Chief Chris Iannuzzi.

About 10 students were displaced when the buildings were evacuated.
