After Saturday's Countdown to Craziness basketball showcase, we asked several freshmen about their first night of action at Cameron Indoor Stadium:

  • "It definitely outdoes all my high school pep rallies."—John Muyres
  • "It's the most amazing experience I've had at Duke so far. Everyone is so excited about this school, and it really connects all of us as a student body. It's everything I imagined it being."—Bianca D'Souza
  • "It's really cool to just finally be here. My parents are both graduates of Fuqua and met at Duke, so I grew up on Duke basketball."—Rachel Shapiro
  • "I thought there were too many [opening acts] in the beginning, but the wait is worth it."—Sam Pan
  • "It's really interesting because it's like the combination of a concert and a game in one. It's effective in getting everyone hyped up."—Vivian Wang
  • "It's amazing. It's everything I thought it was going to be. I grew up a Duke fan, so this is really special for me."—Daniel Allred
  • "I thought it was pretty well done. It sets the tone for the basketball season."—Sujay Rao
  • "It's pretty rad. It's cool to finally be here and be part of basketball culture."—Tara Smith
  • "It's a great way to get us all excited. The fact that they incorporated the dance groups was really awesome. We're all having a great time. It's such a great way to bond with your friends."—Claudia Wrampelmeier
  • "It's pretty great, and the team looked good. It's more of a show than a real game though."—Dom Elzner
