Duke Panhellenic Association endorses Jones for DSG president, Scott for EVP

The Panhellenic Association is proud to announce our endorsement of Stefani Jones for DSG president and Tre’ Scott for DSG executive vice president.

While both Patrick and Stefani are fabulous candidates for president, our organization unanimously believes that Stefani boasts more experience working on issues like gender equality and women’s empowerment that we hold principal to our organization. Her involvement in establishing the gender task force, implementing bystander intervention training and repealing the changed statue of limitations on sexual misconduct show an unwavering commitment to making Duke a better place for women.

However, Stefani’s experience is by no means limited to gender affairs; she has held equally notable positions on other panels dealing with a wide array of campus issues, including her time as a DSG senator for athletics, services and environment, on the Board of Trustees business and finance subcommittee, and on the alcohol and conduct working group. Her bright, approachable personality and familiarity with student leaders and University administration make her a well-rounded candidate equipped to address a diverse array of campus issues as DSG president.

For EVP, we have chosen to endorse Tre’ Scott because of his experience as EVP for duArts and DSG vice president of services. Tre’ is very well integrated into the broader Duke community and is a comfortable and effective communicator. Additionally, he has demonstrated a strong understanding of issues important to the student body like opening up discussions on hazing and alcohol policies on campus. We are proud to endorse Tre’ as a member of the greek community, and Stefani as a member of the Panhellenic Association. Make sure to vote on Thursday!
